Candle Care Guide

Get the most out of your jewellery candle with these essential care tips and safety guidelines

Caring For Your jewellery Candle

Our luxury candles are crafted with premium ingredients and contain beautiful jewellery surprises. With proper care, you'll enjoy the full fragrance experience and ensure safe burning while you wait for your treasure to be revealed.

Follow these simple guidelines to maximize your candle's performance and safely retrieve your jewellery when it appears.

Essential Care Tips

The First Burn is Crucial

The first time you light your candle sets the pattern for how it will burn throughout its life. For optimal results:

  • Allow the wax to melt completely across the entire surface, reaching the edges of the container
  • This typically takes 2-3 hours depending on the size of your candle
  • Failure to do this can cause "tunneling" where the candle burns down the middle only

Trim the Wick

Always trim your wick to 1/4 inch before each burn. This helps prevent:

  • Excessive smoke and soot
  • Uneven burning
  • Flickering or too-large flames
  • Carbon buildup that can fall into the wax

Use scissors or a specialized wick trimmer for best results.

Optimal Burn Time

For the best experience with your jewellery candle:

  • Burn for 1-3 hours at a time
  • Never burn for more than 4 hours continuously
  • Allow the candle to cool completely before relighting
  • Stop burning when 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom

This ensures even burning and helps protect the jewellery inside.

Retrieving Your jewellery

When you spot your jewellery appearing in the melted wax:

  • Extinguish the flame and allow wax to cool slightly (but not completely harden)
  • Use a clean utensil to carefully remove the wrapped jewellery
  • Gently wipe away excess wax with a soft paper towel
  • For any remaining wax, soak in warm (not hot) water

Never use sharp objects that could damage your jewellery.

Candle Safety Guidelines

Never Leave Unattended

Always keep a burning candle within sight. Extinguish before leaving the room or going to sleep.

Keep Away From Flammables

Place candles at least 12 inches away from anything that can burn, including curtains, decorations, and other flammable items.

Use Stable Surfaces

Always place candles on a heat-resistant, stable surface that's also level and sturdy to prevent tipping.

Caring For Your jewellery

Maintaining Your jewellery's Beauty

Once you've retrieved your beautiful jewellery piece from your candle, proper care will keep it looking its best:

General Care: Store your jewellery in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals, including perfumes, lotions, and household cleaners.

Cleaning: Gently clean with a soft cloth. For more thorough cleaning, use mild soap and warm water, then pat dry completely.

Silver jewellery: Use a silver polishing cloth to maintain shine. Store in an anti-tarnish bag or container when not wearing.

Gold jewellery: Clean with a solution of mild dish soap and warm water using a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a soft cloth.

Gemstones: Clean with a soft brush and mild soapy water. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners which can loosen settings or damage certain stones.
